Franklin Aretha: Young, Gifted And Black - LP

A vinyl reissue of the eighteenth studio album by American singer Aretha Franklin, originally released on 24 January 1972 by Atlantic Records. The record won a 1972 Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance of the Year. Its title is taken from Nina Simone's song "To Be Young, Gifted and Black", which Simone originally recorded and released in 1969. In 2003, the television network VH1 named it the 76th greatest album of all time. In 2020, Rolling Stone magazine ranked it at number 388 in its Top 500 Albums of All Time.

Often called the Queen of Soul, her work has been a part of American culture for over fifty years. Aretha Franklin is arguably the most important soul singer in the world. She is the second most successful Grammy award winner, and in 1987, she became the first woman ever to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
