František Nepil: Linden Alley

The book was first published in 1985 as a result of a long-lasting collaboration with the radio programme Dobré jitro. František Nepil narrated entire sets of feuilletons in his characteristic radio voice. One of the series consisted of reflections on the relationship to home, native land and homeland. It was the author who later gave them a book form called Lipová alej, which was supplemented by his friend, the painter Jiří Kalousek, with beautiful illustrations. In 1995, František Nepil reprinted his feuilletons from Lipová aleja in a programme by Bohumil Kolář and Karel Tejkal. We recorded František Nepil's story in the summer of 1995, shortly before the author's sudden death.
