From darkness and light

The great city of Belduar is under siege. For centuries, the Lorian Empire has failed to conquer it, but now the tables are turning and the dragon-empowered Calen Bryer and his companions will soon discover that this time the situation is hopeless. The defenders must all make difficult decisions.
Meanwhile, Ella Bryer sails the seas with the enforcer Farda by her side. Following the death of Rhett Fjorn, she is desperate to reach Berona, but Farda has his own plans for her. The journey north, however, is far from going according to plan…
No one suspects that the real threat is lurking in the darkness. The sinister Shadow will stop at nothing, devouring everything that stands in the way of the monstrous beings in its service. Opposing it is the mysterious order of the Knights of Achyron, but even they are not enough. As a new rebellion against the Empire dawns, unexpected alliances are formed.
