Fucking story
Fucking story - be captured by Minier's mastery of words, breathtaking story and new heroes
With his chilling and nerve-wracking bestselling series featuring Commissaire Servaz, Bernard Minier has thrilled readers and critics alike, and now he is once again proving that he is one of the best authors of detective, thriller and crime novels today. The book Fucking Story won the Cognac Award for Best French Novel of 2016!
Forest and fog everywhere you look. A place where everybody knows everybody and privacy is an illusion. This is the small island of Glass Island, where sixteen-year-old Henry lives and where his girlfriend was murdered. Who's the killer? For the islanders, Henry becomes the main suspect and is closely watched at every turn. He feels their hatred. They feel they want his skin.
His world becomes dangerous, dark and fucked up.
"A surprising crime thriller set in a glamorous setting on the Pacific coast, in the dense forests of North America. "
- France Info"Murder, investigation, mistrust, characters teetering on the edge of the abyss. In short, another of Minier's fucking well-crafted stories. "
- Le Parisien
Bernard Minier
Born on 26 August 1960 in Béziers, he grew up in the south-west of France and spent his childhood in the Pyrenees. He studied at the University of Toulouse, where the protagonist of his thrillers, Martin Servaz, comes from. He made his living as a customs officer, but after the success of Frost he devoted himself to writing. For his debut, Miniert planned only the beginning and the end, and most of the more than six hundred-page book was written without more systematic notes. "I'm more like a jazz musician. I improvise, unlike a classical musician who can get stuck in too tight a structure," explains one of the most successful French composers of recent years.
