Fundamentals of histology

In the 20th century and also at the dawn of the 21st century, a long series of textbooks were created, which gradually conceive histology as a dynamic science, morphofunctional, expanded with the results of electron and confocal microscopy, as well as histochemical and immunohistochemical methods, science, which is a basic prerequisite for understanding pathological processes.

The presented manual is a very brief summary of the material, which cannot replace these textbooks, but is intended to make it easier for first-year students of general medicine and dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine to review the material discussed in lectures and practical exercises. It is also intended to be the basis for the study of microscopic anatomy.

These basics of histology were created as a modified and supplemented translation of the author' s older English manuscript, Outlines of Histology, repeatedly published for the needs of foreign students.
