That, that he chose the title of his book, Gendarmerie Tales from Prague, is no coincidence, because the gendarmerie search station, which was kept at the Police Directorate in Prague as the 92nd police district, had a reach as far as Susice. Readable short stories from the late 1930s offer, besides suspense and humorous situations, also an excursion into the social and political atmosphere of the time. It's not only the cops from the search and rescue who can handle the apartment dwellers, with the cellar-dwellers, with the hoodlums, with cashiers or shady women, that practice the world's oldest craft, but also with dangerous killers, who, thanks to diligent police work, will not escape justice and will receive the punishment they deserve.
