Genesis: R-Kive (3x CD) - CD

The British rock band Genesis was formed in 1967 and (with a short break) works in modified groups to this day. The successes of this legend, as well as its former or current members, will be summarized for the first time by an exceptional three-disc set, which will be released at the end of September under the name R-Kive!

The collection will offer a total of thirty-seven songs, which map not only the greatest successes of the band Genesis, but also its members - Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Petera Gabriela, Stevea Hacketta, Mike Rutherford and his band Mike + The Mechanics. The chronologically arranged set includes Genesis hits such as Invisible Touch, Turn It On Again, Land Of Confusion or I Can' t Dance and the classics The Living Years and Over My Shoulder from the repertoire of Mike + The Mechanics.

Phil Collins' career is mapped on a compilation such as the single In The Air Tonight and a duet with Philip Bailey' s Easy Lover, while Peter Gabriel' s classic Solsbury Hill. Interesting moments of the set are for many lesser-known songs - the flamenco-inspired song Nomads by Steve Hackett, Gabriel' s Signal To Noise, which featured Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, or the song Calling All Stations from Genesis, when he became the band' s lead singer for a short time Ray Wilson, founder of Scottish rockers Stiltskin.

While the band Genesis is represented in the R-Kive selection by twenty-two songs, each member had the opportunity to democratically include three of their solo songs on the record. The selection was so complicated, so some fans may miss a more familiar song. “Mostly singles are what people remember from the records, but sometimes it happens that a lesser-known song presents the whole album better and doesn' t deserve it, to be forgotten, ”Says Phil Collins in defense.

If someone wanted to map the entire career of Genesis and its members in detail, they would definitely need to fit hundreds of songs for such a compilation. R-Kive is thus by far the most prestigious selection of the band Genesis and its members, which in its tracklist not only looks at commercial successes, but also tries to present all the successful stages of the last almost five decades.
