Geriatrics and gerontology

The ageing of the population is a dominant demographic development and is leading to the geriatricization of medicine. The impact on health care is quantitative and qualitative - modification of approaches according to the specific needs of the elderly population. In the Czech literature, there is a lack of modern monographs emphasizing qualitative changes, the need for modification of knowledge and procedures across medical specialties.
