A serial killer is on the loose in the harsh mountains.
Only Laurel Snow can stop him.
FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow had quite different plans for the Christmas season, but when evidence of a serial killer's spree is found in the mountains near her hometown in Washington state, she decides to go to the crime scene and start the investigation.
A quirky young woman with an exceptional memory, who left home as a child prodigy to attend university at just eleven years old, she uses her knowledge of psychology to try and get into the mind of the violent man hiding among the respectable citizens of the mountain town. Her investigation is complicated not only by the harsh winter weather, but also by the shadows of her own past and the uncontrollable attraction she feels for Huck Rivers, an ex-soldier and ranger who has unwillingly become her partner in the investigation.
