Myths of the Amazonian Indians.
The magical world of the Amazonian natives was experienced up close by Mnislav Zelený-Atapana, who personally recorded and then translated their myths.
Amazon, a vast area of tropical forest, of the rainforest, savannahs and highlands, interwoven with hundreds of watercourses, has been inhabited by Native Americans since the fifth millennium BC. What did they believe? How did they explain the origin of the world? Were they afraid of his demise? In one of the myths, there is a lake of hot water above the earth, on which the sun sails daily from sunrise to sunset in his boat. On Sun Lake there is a dwelling where the ruler of the jaguars lives and where only a shaman who can fly up into the sky can get to. At the top of the universe is a layer that covers all others like a lid. What is behind it is not known... The magical world of the Amazonian natives was closely recognized by Mnislav Zeleny-Atapana, who personally recorded and then translated their myths.
