Glass Philip: Solo Piano Ltd Num Clr
LP Record On the album "Solo Piano", Glass presents himself "unplugged" – no electronic keyboards or synthesisers, and no overdubs – just a solo piano. "Metamorphosis" was created in 1988 and is named after a play based on Kafka's short story. The second track, "Metamorphosis Two", became the basis for one of the main musical themes in the film "The Hours". It's also the song the American rock band Pearl Jam uses as intro music for their concerts. "Mad Rush" was written to mark the Dalai Lama's first visit to New York. "Wichita Vortex Sutra" is the result of a chance meeting between two long-time friends, Glass and the poet Allen Ginsberg, in an East Village bookshop.
