Gott, Karel: Dotek lásky - CD

17 world pop classics performed by Karel Gott. Czech versions primarily of American pop, rock and roll, soul or country songs.

Karel Gott readily admits a weakness for an Elvis-like silken repertoire (Always On My Mind, Suspicious Minds or Devil In Disguise), but he didn't overlook other classic pieces from the fifties and sixties either (Blue Velvet, Crying In The Rain or I'm A Believer). In sorting through his favourite songs, however, he worked his way through time to the end of the nineties: from Ben, Vincent or She, through Endless Love (a duet with Monika Absolonová) and Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (a duet with Gabriela Gunčíková), to If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time by R. Kelly. The famous original songs by famous singers and bands were given a unified musical and sound production in the ORM studio. The lyrics are from the legacy of Z. Borovec or P. Vrba, but E. Krečmar, K. Šíp, M. Skalka or V. Poštulka also contributed.

Each of these songs has its own meaning and interpretation for Karel Gott, from the powerful melodies to the original artist. A detailed explanation is provided in the comprehensive booklet, which also contains the complete lyrics. Gott offers songs that have long brought him personal listening pleasure – and on this album, he has sung them in a way that will also bring pleasure to all his fans.
