Gott Karel: Karel Gott sings - LP

Album debut of Karel Gott!

Special reissue of Karel Gott's first album! Although it was actually a combination of stylistically diverse singles from 1964 and 1965, this album is nevertheless an important musical record of the time and the first phase of Gott's brilliant career.

The fourteen tracks capture the singer in the period of his collaboration mainly with large orchestras (Karel Vlach, TOČR), with the one-off exception of Olympik's help with the Beatles' Adresat neznámým. The repertoire consists to a large extent of world inspirations, but also extremely valuable are the domestic contributions led by Semaphore echoes (Eyes Covered with Snow), but also compositions by proven authors Jiří Bažant or Alfons Jindra.

Remastered sound, reconstructed cover art and a documentary sleeve-note make this reissue of Gott's first album an attractive reminder of the mid-1960s.

Excellent songs, big band accompaniment and evidence of brilliant talent will continue to impress even more than 50 years after the original release!
