A garden can provide a unique connection with nature, shade or light — but above all, it's a safe place to meet with our loved ones and a place where we can be alone with ourselves. What's more, a responsibly and consciously planned garden allows us to observe the gradual transformation of the space and draws us into its own time.

Ferdinand Leffler, founder of the Flera landscape architecture studio, compares the individual parts of a garden to the rooms in a house in terms of their function. He explains the essence of these green rooms and offers ways to use them to make our experiences among the trees, flowerbeds, water features and terraces as pleasant and intense as possible.

Among other things, the book introduces us to the stories of five selected gardens that Ferdinand Leffler helped to transform together with their owners. It also offers practical tips and proven methods that anyone can use when designing and establishing a garden.
