A blood-soaked fantasy full of sarcasm and darkness
Live in the saddle! To die on the grease! This is the credo of the half-orcs inhabiting the Concordant Lands. These former slaves guard their bleak land on the backs of giant wild pigs, nicknamed the greasers. They are the only thing standing between the splendid and rich kingdom of men, Hisparta, and the wild bands of pure-blooded orcs.
The Jackal guards his region as a member of the Grey Bastards, one of the eight brotherhoods that survived the cruel siege of the Doomed. The young and ambitious mongrel has long disagreed with the decisions of the leader and founder of the Bastards, a warrior called the Clawmaster, and seeks his deposition. On his side he has his faithful three-blooded friend Kanyur and Gorgeous, the only rider in the hoof.
When a foreign wizard visits the Grey Bastards' fortress, plans to overthrow the boss are revealed and the Jackal must hit the road. During his journey, he will face dangerous opponents: magical mudskippers, Hispartan shakers, hordes of strongmen and menacing centaurs who ride out to perform their bloody rituals during the Traitor's Moon. In his search for the truth, Jackal must decide where his loyalties lie and find his place in a world that rewards only the wicked.
