Guillian harp
The first collection of short stories by the world-famous author published in Czech can be seen as a brief outline of her concept of the fantasy and sci-fi genre. It contains texts both joyful and sad, lucidly poetic and philosophically serious, but always full of compassion, empathy and love for truth, freedom and all living things.
Here we find one of the author's first short stories, April in Paris (1962), and one of the most recent ones, A Pitcher of Water (2014), as well as a new translation of the famous text Those Who Leave Omélas. The short stories from the Ekumen/Hain cycle have been omitted on purpose, the stories from the Earthsea cycle (almost all of them) have already been published in Czech elsewhere.
A collection of 24 short stories, carefully selected by editor Jakub Němeček, represents the author's various styles and practices and is suitable for those, who don't even know Le Guin yet, for you, too, who have already fallen in love with her.
