The publication is specifically focused on laboratory and clinical diagnostics in the field of hematology and transfusion medicine. It contains information for the common attestation field of the same name. It is intended primarily for non-medical health care workers, or health care laboratory technicians, but the book will also be used by medical doctors and clinicians who need knowledge of laboratory and clinical haematology, immunohaematology and haemotherapy when providing health care services.

The second part of the publication presents the essential information and knowledge in the field of transfusion medicine, specifically deals with immunological issues of haemotherapy - erythrocyte immunology, leukocytes and platelets, HLA system -, as well as the issue of blood donation, production of blood products, quality control in transfusion service facilities, description of transfusion products and hemotherapy, including its complications. It is supplemented by a pictorial appendix - it contains 52 photographs and drawings and 29 tables.
