Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters - DVD

Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) take on the role of professional witch hunters to deal with their childhood trauma.
If you missed this classic fairytale as a child, the filmmakers kindly recap it for you during the opening credits. After that, a completely different story begins to unfold.

We find ourselves in a typical medieval town plagued by the usual problems of the era, including the kidnapping of local children, which is blamed on the witches living in the deep surrounding forests. The local sheriff (Peter Stormare) claims he can handle it himself, but he has overestimated his abilities. The mayor, therefore, invites two celebrities on a rescue mission – the legendary witch hunters, Hansel and Gretel. The siblings set off on the trail of the kidnappers with their characteristic zeal, and their work soon starts to yield results. Unfortunately, they are not the results they had hoped for.
They discover that they are up against forces many times more powerful than anything they have ever faced before. They embark on a difficult fight against a powerful and superior enemy. Will they get their happy ending this time?
