Hegerová Hana: Recital 70 live (2x CD) - CD

A discovered gem!
A unique and inimitable chansonnière, Hana Hegerová, and her Recital '70, which lay forgotten for 44 long years in the archives of the Theatre on the Balustrade. It is her first complete concert recording, made in 1971.

It proves the supreme position she held on the popular music scene in Czechoslovakia at the time. A forty-year-old Hegerová masterfully demonstrates her art, accompanied by a band led by Milan Dvořák.
She originally rehearsed Recital '70 for the Semafor theatre, where the premiere took place. However, it wasn't long before, due to the bans that immediately affected Hegerová after the onset of Normalisation, her engagement at Semafor became untenable. Fortunately, the Theatre on the Balustrade extended a helping hand, where she moved her new Recital and performed 133 shows. No similar live recording of her earlier or contemporary recitals has ever been released. And it is more than likely that none even exists.
