Herbert Von Karajan : Symphony No. 5 (Edition 2017) (2x LP) - LP

Composer: Gustav Mahler

Gustav Mahler (7. July 1860 Kaliště - May 18, 1911 Vienna) was a composer born to a Jewish, German-speaking family in the Vysočina region in a village on the Czech-Moravian border in the then Austrian Empire.

He was also an excellent conductor. Mahler, together with his teacher Anton Bruckner, is considered the greatest Austrian composer of symphonic music.

To a certain extent, Mahler can also be considered a Czech composer, both due to his place of birth and because of his partial inspiration from Czech folk music. It is sometimes characterized in professional foreign language literature, with the exception of German.
