Heydrich at Prague Castle

Reinhard Heydrich assumed the post of acting Reich Protector on 27 September 1941 and remained in office until 4 June 1942, when he died eight days earlier from the assassination attempt perpetrated on him by paratroopers Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš. During his time at Prague Castle, Heydrich devoted himself not only to the bloody repression of the resistance Czechs and the "final solution of the Jewish question", but also to the problem of rebuilding the administrative apparatus and ensuring the functioning of the Protectorate as the "armoury of the Third Reich". All this, as well as other problems and plans, were the subject of his well-known, lesser-known and completely unknown speeches and essays, which were written in Prague and which are now being published for the first time in a complete edition in Czech. In addition, the book presents views of Heydrich - formulated after his death - from other high-ranking members of the SS. A separate chapter is devoted to the Reinhard Heydrich Foundation, which was active in Prague until the last days of the war.
