Higher Principle - DVD

This famous film about betrayal, collaboration and, above all, the moral responsibility of the individual takes place in a small town during the beginning of the Heydrichiad. The main actor of the story is the fate of three innocent high school graduates who fall victim to a revenge that, at the time, can have no other than a tragic outcome. Jiří Krejčík has managed to create a thrilling film without heroic pathos, which is enhanced by Zdeněk Liška's excellent music. Originally, Jindřich Plachta was to play the brave professor, but he did not live to see the start of filming, so the director chose František Smolík. Krejčík wrote the script for the film for 15 years, rewriting it three times before finally inviting writer Jan Drda, with whom he completed the work together. Perhaps that is why this film is one of our best films.
