In the semi-autobiographical novel Hipik Coelho returns to his youth, to the turbulent times of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Against the backdrop of the main narrative line, depicting the journey of two young people - Paul and Karla - to Nepal in search of spiritual knowledge, we follow the global hippie movement and the dramatic events of the spring of 1968 in France. Paulo and Karla meet in Amsterdam, where Paulo hopes to find a new lease on life, but is eventually persuaded to board a bus with Karla bound for Kathmandu. The long journey and the small circle of passengers provide the author with space to depict other events and human destinies.
