Hitman - DVD

The world is not exactly a safe place. He steals everywhere, kills, blackmails, abuses. Hitman aka Agent 47 was born as a tool to kill those who cause it. He has no emotions, is accurate, consistent and cannot be traced. When he is then involved in a high-level political game in Russia, he is unexpectedly thrown overboard by his employers. It is time to flee across Eastern Europe. He is followed not only by the local police, but also by Interpol and other structures. In addition, he has to surprisingly deal with his emotional upset, which is the fault of a young Russian prostitute who is on the run with him. Agent 47 thus has to face not only the superiority of his opponents, but also the suddenly awakened humanity.

The film is an adaptation of the game series of the same name, which has been one of the most popular computer games for several years. In the Czech Republic alone, it is played by about 100,000 players. Agent 47 is the product of an attempt by a mad scientist to combine five different DNAs to obtain an indestructible assassin who would fight in the service of good. Hitman also behaves in this way, and in the individual parts of the game he saves his friends and ordinary people from the clutches of criminals and mobsters. The film is not based on any of the game plots, but at the same time fully respects the way the story is told in the game. From the beginning, Hitman has been in constant danger, which stands out even more in contrast to the luxurious environment of today' s reborn Russia.

Hitman is a thrilling action spectacle, where the protagonist is confronted with both Interpol agent Mike, whose dream is to capture Hitman and hand him over to justice, so with mobster Yuri, whose sole purpose is to have power and money in his hands, and he doesn' t care how to achieve this. The dark atmosphere of the film refers to spy films from the Cold War era. But the film is also a thoroughbred action spectacle full of shootouts, chases, destruction and physical exertion. Director Xaver Gens has collaborated on films such as Ronin and Maximum Risk. At the same time, as the author of short films, he penetrated, for example, the program of the famous Venice Film Festival. Starring Timothy Olyphant, who became Bruce Willis' opponent this summer in the fourth sequel to The Death Trap.
