Horníček Miroslav: Letters from Provence - CD
The experience of something already experienced happened to the young Miroslav Horníček at the age of seventeen. He met the verses of the French poet Fréderic Mistral and as if they were returning to the landscape, which he knew intimately so far only from his dreams, to southern France, to Provence.
He collected all the mentions of this region from his childhood, drew maps, and recorded records. Miner writes about his special hobby: “I have written with the feelings of someone who learns about his birthplace, whom he has never known, and who wants to know as much as possible, if not everything, with the eagerness of a native. ”The verses of Fréderic Mistral, Traxler' s brothers set to music, accompany this reading of Horníček' s fictional letters addressed to the heroes of his beloved region.
Literary character from the novel by Alfons Daudet - Tartarin of Tarascon, the real d' Artagnan, the prototype of the later Four Musketeer, the poet Fréderic Mistral, the unknown troubadours and the famous actor Gérard Philip. The letters were written by a forty-year-old Miner under the blue sky of Provence, to the sound of cicadas, at the moment when his life dream came true and he seemed to return to where he was really well.
The recording from 1975 is released on CD for the first time and again recalls not only the beauty of the language and ideas of the famous Czech native, but also his enthusiasm for French literature, theater, gastronomy and great wine.
Returns of the word master to the dream landscape, southern France!
