Horrible Christmas Stories

A crackling fire in the fireplace, creeping footsteps crunching in the snow and a literally chilling sense of dread. Yes, here again are the much-loved Horrible Histories of the British author Chris Priestley, who was so impressed by the city during a visit to Prague on the occasion of the publication of Czech translations of his books that he is considering placing the plot of one of his other works here. In seven tales imbued with a mysterious, haunting atmosphere, the reader is treated to many brilliantly unexpected twists and turns and, of course, the necessary, terrifying lesson that it is not advisable to break rules or written or unwritten laws and that evil, malicious behaviour is deservedly punished.
