Hunter's Full Moon

Hunter's Moon audiobook, written by Dana Stabenow, translated by Hana Láryšová. Read by Lucie Juřičková, directed by Helena Rytířová. Kate Shugak #9 KATE SHUGAK FIGHTS FOR SURVIVAL IN THE DEEP WOODS, WHERE SOMEONE IS HUNTING MORE THAN JUST WILD GAME. Autumn brings the hunting season, and with it, hunters from all over the world flock to Alaska. Some hope to get moose antlers, others a bear skin… Some, however, are more of a danger to themselves than to the animals, as they can barely tell one end of a rifle from the other. This is precisely the case for a group of German tourists being guided through the wilderness by Kate Shugak and her boyfriend, Jack. But it's not all fun and games. The tragic death of one of the expedition members is just the first tremor that sets off an avalanche. As more and more bodies emerge from the mist, Kate realises that wild animals are not the only thing being hunted in the deep woods, and the corporate trip quickly turns into a harsh fight for survival. Soon, Kate is left alone, soaked, hungry, and injured. Yet she must find the strength within herself to face her pursuers and save what she can. This time, the guide becomes the hunter… DANA STABENOW Dana Stabenow was born in 1952 in Anchorage, Alaska, and grew up on a fishing boat where, between bouts of seasickness, she wrote stories about 'normal' children growing up on land and forced her mother to read them. She graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Alaska and then embarked on a four-month backpacking trip across Europe. Upon her return, she worked for Alyeska Pipeline and British Petroleum. In her thirties, she decided she didn't want to spend her life in the thrall of oil tycoons and would rather become a poor writer. She promised herself she would publish her first book before she was completely broke, and she just barely managed it. Her debut novel, Second Star, was published in 1991, followed a year later by the first book in the popular Kate Shugak series, A Cold Day for Murder, which won an Edgar Award in 1993. LUCIE JUŘIČKOVÁ She comes from an artistic family and was born in Plzeň, where her father, František Juřička (b. 1927), worked as a radio director. He was eventually persecuted for his civic stances and active involvement in 1968, ending up as a political prisoner during the Normalisation period. Lucie Juřičková's mother, Marie Grafnetterová (b. 1933), was a long-standing star of the operetta company at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň as an actress and singer. After graduating from the conservatoire, she secured her first engagement at the Jiří Wolker Theatre in Prague. She has worked in various Prague theatres. She is currently engaged at the National Theatre. Besides theatre, she focuses mainly on voice-over work. Her husband is the actor Martin Zahálka, who is also active in voice-over work.
