Ideas of a kind reader

Ideas of a kind reader
After his successful debut Opinions on Murder and his successful novel Wonderful Years Under the Dog, the young Michal Viewegh published his third book, Ideas of a Kind Reader, "a collection of hilariously titillating literary parodies" in 1993. You tried, as Bohumil Hrabal writes, Milan Kundera, Josef Škvorecký, Zdenek Svěrák, Ernest Hemingway, Nikos Kazantzakis, Erich Segal and Raymond Moody.
In his spare comic short stories, Viewegh succeeded in drawing attention to the essence of the style of the individual parodied writers through satirical shorthand. Moreover, he is capable of self-irony, and he also parodies himself in the last short story, which he therefore loaded himself. Other original absurd mini-stories are interpreted by the well-read Jiří Lábus. Pavel Tigrid called Viewegh "a born humorist". In our recording two humorists met, the performer and the author.
