Ignition: Round One

Victoria Joseline Clark has never been one of the most sensible girls, although her intelligence cannot be denied. For all seventeen years of her life, she considered herself an average person and led an average life. Studying at a prestigious secondary school, endless arguments with her annoying brother, constant parties with friends, family dinners in the company of her caring mother and faithful dog: she didn't stand out from other teenagers in any way.
Her parents had only one goal: to raise their children to be decent people. From a young age, they instilled iron-clad principles in Victoria, which she blindly followed in the belief that this would help her avoid the problems her mother told her about.
Unfortunately, she wasn't prepared for the fact that her biggest threat would be a tall boy with a dead-eyed stare and a chilling smile. A few poorly chosen words were all it took to start a fight she never saw coming. Everything spiralled out of control the moment it turned out that this arrogant boy was a legend in illegal boxing duels, which for years had been opposed by her mother – the local mayor's right-hand woman and a loyal admirer of the local police force.
