In the family circle

Family is the life ring that keeps us afloat in stormy waters. Well, in an ideal world, at least. Family life also has its darker sides, and when things take a turn for the worse, they can take on truly horrifying dimensions. Together, we experience visits, celebrations, and holidays, but also divorces, illnesses, and funerals. Eleven renowned authors have written short stories in which they recount, through the eyes of a child or an adult, tales of deep, poignant, amusing, and at other times tense, relationships with those closest to us.
