Inclusive education
The monograph focuses on the pedagogical concept that all children should attend mainstream classes, regardless of their disability. Nowadays, we quite naturally recognize the right of all people to education, so the crucial question is not WHY a child can be educated in a mainstream school, but HOW to enable such a child to benefit from this education, both for himself and for those around him. The book provides those interested in further developing Czech school practice with an overview of current theories of inclusive education, an interpretation of its principles and an explanation of its methodology. The intention is to create at the same time a theoretical background for advancing inclusive practice in schools. The publication is intended primarily for students of pedagogical disciplines and for the professional public - educators, psychologists, social workers and counselling centres, including the staff of the newly established Centres for the Support of Inclusive Education (CPIV).
