We're losing the outer landscape. It means that something is happening to the inner landscape...
It is not for nothing that it is said that the view from the window of one's room tells the most about one's inner self. And in this respect, our prospects are not exactly flattering - years of neglect of the landscape of our home have resulted in an apparent degradation of its spirit in many places. A collection of essays by geologist Václav Cílek on the beauties of the Bohemian Basin, that only seemingly slumber beneath the layers of ancient horror dramas, stands out for the softness of its words and the sacredness of its experience, with revelatory contexts and aphoristic observations of a traveller, who on the way did this, that we can all seduce when we walk with concentration: he brought out the best in himself.
The author's reflections show how the space around us can be rediscovered not only for the benefit of nature itself, but also for the sake of our own soul. After all, without landscape there is no human memory and therefore no rock-solid support that we belong somewhere. It's time to restore the lost balance if we don't want to be knocking on the door of psychiatrists and crowding thousands of other patients any time soon.
Many influences, many layers, but one story.
