Innocent angels
The wings of an angel, the mind of a devil. The third Lexi Bennett case.
Inspector Lexi Bennett finds herself caught up in the investigation of one of the most mysterious cases of her career. A young woman is found brutally murdered in a cave beneath a vineyard. Her body is adorned with angel wings, and her little daughter is toddling beside her. When another woman with wings and a child is found, it becomes clear that the killer is performing a terrifying ritual. The public and her superiors are pressuring Lexi to close the case quickly. However, she follows her instincts and delves into the past. But the killer has already chosen another victim… Time is running out.
Alison Belsham
Alison Belsham was born in Hampshire in the United Kingdom and now lives and works in Edinburgh. She began writing because she wanted to become a screenwriter. She then prioritised her family for a while, only to return to the literary scene with even greater drive. In 2016, she won first place in the Pitch Perfect competition at the Bloody Scotland crime writing festival. When she published the novel The Tattooist in 2018, it immediately became an international blockbuster and the start of a new series set in the mysterious world of master tattoo artists. The sequel, Her Last Breath, followed a year later, and The Embalmer is the third book in the series.
