Integrated thematic teaching in the context of evidence-based practice
This publication focuses on the issue of Integrated Thematic Instruction / Highly Effective Teaching (ITI/HET) in the context of evidence-based practice, i.e., education based on the best available scientific evidence. On a theoretical level, the monograph provides a detailed explanation of the ITI/HET model and places it within the broader context of educational innovation and the concept of evidence-based practice. On an empirical level, it offers original research findings, presents the most robust scientific evidence to date on the effectiveness of ITI/HET, and provides an analysis of the Czech educational context. On a practical level, it creates the conditions for implementing this evidence into practice through a proposed implementation strategy, which can serve as an inspiration for teachers, school headteachers, and educational policymakers.
