Intermezzo

Peter and Ivan Koubek are brothers, but they are completely different. Peter is a successful, confident Dublin lawyer, but after his father's death he can't sleep without medication and can't cope with his relationship with two women - his first love Sylvia and his student Naomi. The younger Ivan, a chess player and loner, meets Margaret, an older woman with a difficult past, and they form an intense bond. For both brothers, there is a new interlude - a period of longing, despair and hope, and a test of how much they can take without their lives falling apart.
