Iron Hands

A clash of generations. That's one way to summarise the only novel by Slovak playwright Július Barč-Ivan. A young student longs to express his talent and fulfil his dreams for the future, but clashes with his father, who has a clear opinion about his future and has no intention of changing it. Will the young man manage to break free from his father's iron grip, or will he remain forever trapped by expectations?

The text of the book has been digitised from the first edition of 1948 and has undergone minimal stylistic and grammatical adjustments.
