Isaac Babel: The King and his Poet

In a cycle of twelve short stories included in the Odessa Tales collection, Isaak Babel returned to the city of his youth, among the Jewish poor, the milieu of small market traders, and the bizarre underworld. And it was the king of thieves and thug Beňa Kryk who became the central hero of our story. Translation: Jan Zábrana, director: Jiří Horčička
