Ivan Klima: Judge of Mercy

One of the best novels by the writer Ivan Klíma in a radio adaptationThe story of Judge Adam Kindl, a hero with autobiographical features, is set in the time of the beginning of normalisation. Both forms of the story represent the thematic area of the author's work, which focuses on the clash between the individual and power, the impact of ideology and power structures on the inner world of man. One level of the work depicts the moral, professional and marital crisis of forty-year-old judge Adam Kindl as he experiences it in the early 1970s. The second is a retrospective look into his past.
