JAMIROQUAI: Emergency On Planet Earth

LP Record The British band's brilliant 1993 debut, fronted by Jason Kay, turned out to be a breathtaking album with ten wonderful funk-soul tracks. The singles were the title track and "When You Gonna Learn". The ten-minute "Revolution 1993" is particularly outstanding. Jamiroquai have since become one of the truly great bands, with all four of their LPs going platinum. Their biggest fan: Stevie Wonder! Review by F. Erdle in Audio magazine 8/93: "Pop CD of the month... the twenty-two-year-old singer sings like a young god. More precisely: like the young soul god Stevie Wonder. He throws himself into the rhythm with a brazen and carefree attitude, here letting a few delightful strings march, there a zesty brass section."
