Janda Petr: I probably won't want to - LP
Petr Janda and Olympic are inseparable, and this will remain the case, as demos for the next album are reportedly already in the works.
This album, however, is an extraordinary event for his 80th birthday: The songs were composed, lyrics written, a studio band assembled and numerous guests invited to add to the special atmosphere. It is clear that the melodic ideas do not deny the author of about a thousand mostly Olympic songs, and yet this music is different in many ways. It's a kind of taking stock, looking back and remembering, but certainly not leaving, because the singer, guitarist, composer etc. has energy to spare.
Janda was joined only for this time by "youngsters" Lukas Pavlik (drums, co-producer), Adam Stivin (bass guitar), Ondřej Fencl (keyboards, vocals, lyrics) and Lukáš Koranda (backing vocals, texts). Friends were added to this core group, including musical collaborators Jiří Stivín, Emil Viklický, Antonín Gondolán and Jiří George Kozel. There is also violin of Pavel Šporcl, mouth organ of Matěj Ptaszek, piano of Petr Vondráček, accordion of Karel Mařík, vigorous winds and vocal Dobrý večer Quintet. And of course also Marta Jandová, for example in a balladic duet with her father. Rock essence, chanson surprises or swing libations, an anniversary extravaganza for all fans of Peter Janda and the successful finding of musical transformations. One of the events of 2022
