Japan: Quiet Life (Coloured Vinyl) - LP

“Quiet Life” is Japan’s breakthrough album, where they stepped out of their original glam rock and post-punk shadow and found a completely new sound for themselves, which in a sense then went on to define the entire eighties. One of the seminal records of the eighth decade is now being reissued on CD, LP, and 3CD+LP, as well as a special limited edition coloured vinyl.

Japan was formed in London in 1974. The group was founded by the later prominent figures of the music scene, David Sylvian (vocals), his brother Steve Jansen (drums), Richard Barbieri (keyboards), and Mick Karn (saxophone/bass guitar), who were later joined by Robert Dean (guitar). Initially, they were on the edge of glam rock and post-punk. They later became one of the creators of the “sound of the 80s”. Following internal disagreements, particularly between Sylvian and Karn, the group disbanded in 1982.
