Jaroslav Dietl: Dr. Marcus and his family
A historical story set in Berlin's famous Charité hospital. Written by Jaroslav Dietl, radio adaptation and direction by Jaroslav KodešAfter the successful television series Hospital on the Edge of Town, Jaroslav Dietl was offered by East German television in 1980 to write a similar series about the famous, ancient Berlin hospital Charité. And so he invented a plot-rich, multi-layered saga of the medical family Marcus, in which he follows the colourful life stories of three generations from Christmas 1913 to the spring of 1978, as they developed with many peripheries against the background of the history of the hospital, the history of Berlin and the whole country. The script remained in the estate and later only a radio adaptation was made.
