Jaroussky, Garcia: A Sa Guitare - CD

Countertenor Philippe Jaroussky and guitarist Thibaut Garcia met for the first time two years ago. Although Jaroussky's triple album "Passion" was mostly a compilation retrospective, it also featured several brand new recordings, two of which were co-written by Garcia. The collaboration was obviously a success and now both artists are coming up with their first album, which was prepared together only by the two of them (if we don't count the technical team, of course). The recording has an unusually wide dramaturgical scope and presents music from four centuries and composers of many nationalities, from Austria, Italy and Spain, to Great Britain, the United States and Argentina. Genre-wise, it ranges from classical music, through Latin-American rhythms to pure pop. The title of the album was given by the opening composition by Francis Poulenc and besides arrangements for countertenor with guitar accompaniment, we can also find here several purely instrumental guitar numbers that also serve as certain dramaturgical sections.
