Jeremiah Johnson - DVD
Some say he died. others say he will never die.
The loner Jeremiah Johnson is leaving the “white“ civilization and his only wish is to live completely independently. That is why he sets out into the wilderness, the purity of which he never doubted. However, an inexperienced novice must find a relationship with nature, with the Indians and with himself. The first winter in the deserted, beautiful and rugged Rocky Mountains will almost kill him. His departure into the woods does not necessarily mean finding his own peace.
The plot of the balladly western story takes place around 1844. It was shot by the important director Sydney Pollack, whose name remains associated with the films Horses Are Also Shooting, Three Days of Condor, Tootsie, Memories of Africa and The Company. One of the characteristic features of his direction was the art of storytelling and choosing an excellent cast, both of which are offered by this film. The main role was played in an unforgettable way by Robert Redford, as well as in the rough story, the impressive shots of unrestrained and yet unspoiled nature, captured in the wilderness in Utah .
