Jiří Hejda: I lived in vain

Reading from the manuscript of the biography of the prominent Czech economist and publicist Jiří Hejda, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the trial of Dr. Milada Horáková. Hejda's autobiography I lived in vain: The novel of my life could not be published until after 1989. The radio adaptation of Hejda's book-length memoir is impressive: the sequel reading has 21 parts! Directed by Josef Melč, who also prepared the programme from the manuscript, the cast includes Otakar Brousek, Magdalena Rychlíková and Hana Mašková.
