Josef Nesvadba: Dialogue with Dr. Dong

In the beginning it was "a political novel with a detective background". Josef Nesvadba's novel The Dialogue with Doctor Dong, as well as the radio production of the same name, dealt very deeply and honestly with the question of whether it is moral and acceptable to lie or even commit a crime in the interest of good. But what is meant here by good is the world revolution, represented by two diametrically opposed heroes: an old revolutionary, Dr. Marek, called Dong (Zdeněk Štěpánek) and a young Prague bacteriologist (Eduard Cupák), who has never experienced any revolution and thus had no opportunity to show any heroism. Directed by: Jiří Horčička.
