Karel Šiktanc: St. John's Fire

A tale of misfortune and pitfalls that only the power of love can overcome. There are a number of superstitions and customs associated with the feast of St. John: fires are lit and special power is attributed to herbs picked on the eve of the feast. The Mysterious Midsummer Night forms the framework of a radio fairy tale by poet Karel Šiktanec, which tells the story of Matthew, whose face is burnt by fire and there is only one way to help him.
