Karlaz: A Person's Journey

Elias meets KARLAZ, who transports him to the world beyond the snow line. There, the boy sees his soul heading towards the city of ghosts. He realises that he has not done in life what he was supposed to do and has wasted his time. His throat tightens and he longs to redeem himself. KARLAZ reveals to him that there is a path that could help him get where he wishes to go. To the translucent city, where pilgrims who have lived a good life sound the drums of eternity. Elias asks KARLAZ to be his teacher. He agrees and initiates him on a viewpoint above the river.

In twenty-nine discourses, KARLAZ explains what is important in life. He brings to life stories of long-forgotten monasteries, desert oases and lost cities. In timeless conversations with lame hermits, experienced healers and powerful rulers, he offers practical instructions for solving fundamental life questions.

He touches on topics such as relationships, self-discovery, speech, sin, the dark night, fear, pain, faith, time, death, order, money, gratitude, forgiveness, attachment, meditation, feeling, thinking and the search for one's life's purpose.
