The second book of the executioner's chronicle depicts the events of 1610-1622
"Executioner's work is not easy and even years don't help a person get used to it. From this, then, comes a kind of loneliness that often weighs on a person's soul." says the son of Jan Mydlář, a Prague executioner and a master of medicine, about his trade. His father's memories revive ancient events - the attack on Prague, the Battle of White Mountain and the execution in Old Town Square, where the hand of the executioner Mydlář beheaded twenty-seven Czech lords. This event had a bad impact on the fate of the executioner's family.
