In the fourth step towards darkness, Murderers, the listener is transported to a realm of tales of vampires and haunted houses
The first is Sarah's Tomb by the English naval officer and writer Frederick George Loring. It is not without interest that its first translation into Czech was not published until 2010, a full century after it was published. It is one of the first stories of the last century to feature not a vampire, but a vampire woman. And the female protagonist's gender is a link to Luella Miller by American author Mary Eleanor Wilkins Freeman. In this short story, the heroine, a resident of a haunted house, literally sucks the life out of anyone who shows interest in her. And over time, the atmosphere thickens. The relatively short story has incredible depth and will resonate in your head long after you've listened to it. Both stories are read by Petr Šmíd, with Luella Miller together with Marta Dancingerová.
